Niall Horan performed “Slow Hands” for Thursday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Watch the video below!
“Slow Hands” is the second single from Horan’s upcoming debut solo album. The song was released earlier this month as the follow-up to “This Town,” which came out last year. Unlike that track, “Slow Hands” is more uptempo, with a somewhat sexier and edgier vibe than Horan typically gives off.
He performed “Slow Hands” at last Saturday’s Wango Tango, the annual KIIS-FM concert, but this now marks the first time he’s sung the song on television. That exposure could potentially help give it a chart boost. While “Slow Hands” is performing well in Ireland and Scotland (Horan is Irish, after all), it has only reached number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Slow Hands” has been slightly more successful on the Mainstream Top 40 and Adult Top 40, ranking 31st and 33rd, respectively.
Though both “Slow Hands” and “This Town” will be featured on Horan’s album, the singer hasn’t announced when the record will be released or what it is titled. But he joins his fellow One Direction members in embarking on solo careers. Harry Styles released his self-titled solo album last week, and Liam Payne’s first single will drop on Friday. And Louis Tomlinson debuted his song “Just Hold On” last December.
On “The Ellen Show,” Horan also played a game of “Hot Hands” with the very funny host. After amusingly singing “Hot Stuff” together and taking a selfie with an audience’s member’s phone, they watched the excited woman quickly rattle off the names of hot male celebs. Included multiple times? Horan, of course. He was clearly happy about the appearance, as he tweeted after the taping on Wednesday, “@TheEllenShow thank you for having me as always Ellen. Love you. Guys watch the show tomorrow. Slow hands first time on TV.”
DeGeneres replied with the above selfie, writing, “We look so good together.” Rsponded Horan, “We do! See ya soon, love ya.” Check out the videos below!
