Video Captures Crazy Shootout Between Baltimore Police And Robbers

Police are searching for two suspects who opened fire on police officers after they responded to an early morning robbery at a 7-Eleven in downtown Baltimore. The entire scene was captured on a surveillance camera from across the street. According to Fox 45 in Baltimore, no officers were injured, and they are unsure if the suspects were shot during the confrontation.

The harrowing situation unfolded just after 1 a.m. when officers were called to an armed robbery in progress at 7-Eleven. When police arrived, they were greeted with gunfire, which Baltimore Police spokesman T.J. Smith told reporters was likely an attempt to distract the officers and allow them to escape through the emergency exit. A few moments later, police attempted to enter through the front door, and were greeted with another round of gunfire from the suspects.

Police exchanged gunfire with the two men as they fled the scene. As the officers ran for cover and returned fire, the Baltimore Sun reports that the two suspects ran through the front door and headed in different directions. Fox News reports the two men only managed to steal $100.

Police did not say how many shots were fired, but Amber Miller, a local reporter for Fox 45, says there were at least 60 evidence markers around the scene.

Miraculously, none of the officers were hurt during the shootout. Smith said it was "absolute sheer amazement that none of these officers took a bullet in this doorway."

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $24,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
