Someone Showed Their 'The Four' Audition Tape To DJ Khaled at a Restaurant

We're now a few episodes into the The Four: Battle For Stardom, and we're a few weeks closer to finding the next big superstar with the help of a panel of hit-makers and music industry titans like Puff Daddy, Meghan Trainor, DJ Khaled, and Republic Records president Charlie Walk

Each week, the panel is encouraging all of the talented, aspiring artists out there to submit their audition tapes to TheFourMusic.com for their chance to be a potential challenger to take on one of The Four. And some of these possible future challengers are going the extra mile.

DJ Khaled told iHeartRadio during an interview that one person approached him in a restaurant to show him their audition tape ... and it kinda worked! He said:

"This show is incredible, man. And we appreciate all the love and all the listeners and the fans. I mean, it's exciting. Everywhere we walk, people screaming The Four, showing us audition tapes. The other day I was at a restaurant, somebody pulled out their phone and showed me the tape that they sent in, and I was like, 'Man, you know what? I'm gonna go look for that tape,' 'cause it was fly. It had a good energy."

As for Khaled's role as a panelist, the mogul says it's a chance to change someone's life, as they are getting the chance to work with a superstar team behind them. He said:

"From my perspective, I look at it like somebody's life being changed; somebody's dreams coming true. But at the same time, when I was coming up in the game, if I had a chance to work with Puff Daddy, I would just not only lose my mind, I would make sure that I'm the greatest thing that ever happened. So, the winner [has] obviously got to be great. They get a chance to work with Puff Daddy, myself, Meghan Trainor, Charlie Walk, and you got Fergie as a host. She's a Grammy winner and she's an icon and a star as well. So, they got a dream team. But it's not even just about us working in the studio together, 'cause we got to always make sure that's right, but it's about helping them market themselves, helping them get the right visuals, teaming up with iHeartRadio. All these keys that we're giving them, and opportunities, it's on them at that point. 'Cause we're going all out. We're taking this serious. Music is our life."

DJ Khaled also described what it would be like to help launch the career of the winner for The Four, and make them next big superstar. "I was just thinking about when I was coming up in the game, and how hard I was in that garage, to when I used to DJ the parties, when I'd make the beats, or if I was A&R on an album ... all the steps that I came up in this game. And to be able to sit back and watch this artist that comes on that stage that's a new generation, and give them some keys, but also be inspired. Because when you hear good talent, when you hear a superstar, it's nothing like that feeling when you discover a superstar, and watch them just shine and win, especially when you're with them from the start."

Who will be the next super star?! Stay tuned to The Four: Battle for Stardom every Thursday at 8/7c on FOX.
