Meghan Markle Wanted To 'Stick Around' UK Before Marrying Prince Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Visit Reprezent

Meghan Markle had her sights set on London long before she was set up with Prince Harry on a blind date. The California-native once revealed in an interview that she'd love to move to the UK and the clip is now going viral.

The recently rediscovered interview from 2013 shows the Duchess of Sussex chatting with British TV personality Lizzie Cundy, raving about her time in London. Meghan was still starring on Suits at the time and living in Toronto where the show as filmed. Little did she know she'd marry the literal Prince of England in a few years time.

“It is very cold, but the people are so warm, as cheesy as that sounds,” Meghan said of London. “I was joking today that I’ve never been called ‘love’ or ‘darling’ more in my life, so it makes me want to stick around for a while.”

Cundy recently spoke with The Sun about the connection she forged with Meghan after meeting in 2013, revealing Meghan was even interested in being set up with some eligible British bachelors after her divorce from Trevor Engelson earlier that year.

“We were having a girly chat and then she said, ‘Do you know any famous guys? I’m single and I really love English men’, so I said, ‘we’ll go out and find you someone’,” Cundy told The Sun. “Meghan’s so relaxed, she liked a drink, great fun, I remember her asking about my boys, she was very interested and asking lots of questions."

Cundy claims Meghan "ghosted" her after she started dating Prince Harry, though, so it's probably wise to take her gossip with a grain of salt. Either way, Meghan ended up with the most eligible British bachelor, like, ever, so, good for you, Meg!
