Stranger Things Season 4 might be lining up a 2020 release date.

According to a recent listing from Production Weekly, obtained via ComicBook.com, Netflix appears to be eye-balling production for its cult-followed sci-fi series as soon as this October, which has fans speculating the show will return for its fourth season sometime next year.

Additionally, actress Cara Buono, who plays Karen Wheeler on the show, also appeared to spill the beans when she was asked about the upcoming season at an event, saying, "We start shooting Season 4 in October."

As you know, Season 3, which premiered to high expectations earlier this month, ended with the first signs of winter, which could potentially mean Season 4 may even arrive just in time for Christmas 2020.

As far as what's to come, the Duffer Brothers hinted to Entertainment Weekly the likelihood of the gang of teens leaving Hawkins in the upcoming season.

After Season 3, which saw the once pint-sized squad growing up and dealing with love and coming of age in the '80s, the Duffers say the follow-up will feel "very different" and expand beyond the shopping malls and political conspiracies.

“I think the biggest thing that’s going to happen is it’s going to open up a little bit, not necessarily in terms of scale, in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of allowing plotlines into areas outside of Hawkins,” Matt Duffer told the publication.
