A Sparta cop has been charged with a petty disorderly persons offense for harassment after he allegedly shoved a woman at the Sparta VFW on St. Patrick's Day. According to the New Jersey Herald, Cpl. Craig Grauerholz Jr. and the woman are acquaintances that got into verbal disagreement which then turned physical, causing her to break a hand.

Grauerholz was reportedly off-duty at the time of the incident but the VFW should have been closed that day since Gov. Murphy's executive order to shut bars and restaurants went into effect at 8pm the day before.

The incident has been under investigation for months and though multiple witnesses were allegedly interviewed it's noteworthy to mention that the victim declined to speak to detectives or provide a statement.

It is unknown whether Grauerholz has been suspended from the force but according to the victim's attorney, George Daggett, the woman is planning to file a lawsuit against both Grauerholz and Sparta.
